Liz brooker

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Liz Brooker as the new Waimarino Environmental Educator at Project Tongariro.

A well-known local resident and personality, Liz brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the region's flora, fauna, and its communities. Her extensive experience and strong community ties will be invaluable in her new role.

As the Waimarino Environmental Educator, Liz will connect local schools, kura, and early childhood centers with real-life conservation projects. Her efforts will enhance educational experiences and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural environment among the region's youth.

Liz's appointment has been made possible through generous funding from Environment Hubs Aotearoa, Transpower's Community Care program, and the McCarthy Trust. This support reflects a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and education.

At Project Tongariro, we aim to expand conservation education opportunities and foster greater collaboration among schools, iwi, organizations, businesses, and the wider community. Liz's role will be instrumental in achieving these objectives.
