We all know that Shirley Potter and her crew of Wednesday Weeders are a bunch of really good sorts, but it was fantastic to see Hayden Jones and his TV crew recognise that too.

For those of you not so familiar with Shirley, she is a long-time volunteer and board member at Project Tongariro.

She and her volunteers meet every Wednesday for their Wednesday Weeders group, helping to care for the Oruatua Reserve.

It’s great to see Shirley and her crew get the recognition they deserve. Well done, Shirley and the Wednesday Weeders!
