Maunga Clean Up and Sky Waka Gondola Experience

Take a hike on a volcano and help remove visitor rubbish that didn't make it to the bin. Afterward, grab a complimentary ride on the Sky Waka Gondola.

Plan to meet on Friday, 29th of January, at 9.45 at the top of the Bruce Road in front of the Whakapapa Retail Store. A plan for the walk, a safety brief, and paperwork will be covered then. The Gondola ride will be provided after the rubbish collection. This must be used on the day. The walk will take place going up Tenants Valley and the Rock Garden and coming back down. This will take about 2 hours. Everyone must have appropriate footwear (e.g. hiking boots) for walking on volcanic rock and uneven ground. Make sure you bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a wind and waterproof jacket. We will provide gloves and rubbish bags on the day. The weather can change quickly up on the mountain, we will update everyone on Facebook if there are any changes to the day that you might need to know about. Please take note that some fitness will be required for the rubbish collection. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
