Thank You Ruapehu Trail Festival Volunteers!
A massive THANK YOU goes out to all the amazing volunteers who gave up their Saturday to help us at the Ruapehu Trail Festival event last weekend. Your enthusiasm and hard mahi are what made this event so successful for us, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
The Ruapehu Trail Festival (umbrella name for the Tussock Traverse and Ring of Fire events) is a major fundraising opportunity for Project Tongariro. The BBQ fundraiser pulled in approx. $2600 and we are expecting another $10K to come from our course marshalls and a percentage of the participant entrance fees - a fabulous result! The funds raised from this event will go back into the environments of the Tongariro National Park and its communities.
We’re also pleased to report that 371 participants chose to donate a tree rather than receive a finishing medal this year! The trees will be planted in the upcoming planting season.
Thank you to Jason Cameron and the entire Victory Events team for bringing this event to our region. We’re extremely grateful of the wonderful partnership we’ve had over the past 10 years and we look forward to being apart of the Ruapehu Trail Festival next year!
