Discover its long history, from kai, to mining, to conservation, and encounter unique landscapes, flora and fauna.
The trip will also demonstrate the scientific, economic and conservation value of our geothermal resources, how they can provide renewable geothermal electricity and how these development activities can co-exist with conservation.

Transport: Personal vehicles - must have a high wheelbase. 4WD vehicles preferred, but a 2WD with high clearance is acceptable. We will encourage carpooling to minimise the number of vehicles and road safety risks.
Cost: Koha
No postponement date. Will be canceled if the forecast for poor weather. Other criteria for canceling include volcanic risk levels and Covid alert level increase.
Please note: You will be asked to sign a health and safety waiver after the safety briefing on the day.

Long sleeved shirt/jersey and long trousers

Tramping boots
Sunglasses / sunscreen / sunhat
Gloves and warm hat
Snacks and drinks
Personal first aid kit
