KIWI AVOIDANCE TRAINING IS A TOOL THAT HELPS REDUCE THE THREAT THAT DOGS CAN POSE TO OUR PRECIOUS NATIVE BIRDS WHEN OFF LEAD.

It is ideal for hunting and farm dogs who are required to work in areas where kiwi may be found. Dogs are trained one at a time, learn more about the process here: https://www.kiwiavoidancetraining.nz/

Owners of dogs trained will have the opportunity to renew or complete their DOC hunting dog certifications on the day also.

As a thank-you for your efforts to protect kiwi, each participant will be provided one free family pass to the Otorohanga Kiwi House following the training.

Location: Ohakune Community Hub, Te Pae Tata, 43b Ruapehu Road, Ohakune.
Cost: $5 per dog

Please note when booking a time, you will be allocated a 15-minute space within the hour on arrival.

Participants are asked to ensure all dogs are contained whilst waiting for their turn to be trained.
